Affiliated Organizations
The Jeunesses Musicales Canada Foundation (JMCF) has existed for the development of classical music and young, professional artists for over 25 years. Through its active members and current president Richard Lupien, the Foundation contributes annually to the work carried out by JMC, which without question represents a jewel in the crown of Canada’s cultural heritage. Jeunesses Musicales Canada is affiliated with Jeunesses Musicales International (JMI), founded in Belgium in 1945 and considered by UNESCO to be the most significant cultural youth and music organization in the world. Each year, over 30,000 musical events are organized by 41 national Jeunesses Musicales chapters, reaching an audience of around about 6 million. (Official website)
Jeunesses Musicales Ontario (JMO) is a provincial affiliate of Jeunesses Musicales Canada. Since 1997, JMO has brought classical music to Ontario presenters, making its reputation notably through its Kinderconcerts series in partnership with the NAC in Ottawa, as well as its Music with Bite series presented at the Harbourfront Centre in Toronto. JMO now reaches over 40 French-language schools, as well as a few English-speaking schools, in the Greater Toronto Area. (Official website)
Jeunesses Musicales New Brunswick (JMNB) is a provincial affiliate of JMC incorporated since 1996. New Brunswick has consistently been very active in Jeunesses Musicales activities. JMNB represents seven JMC Centres around the province.
